LAHORE, May 13 Customs and Police registered wins on the third day of the Super Eight stage of the 29th National Junior Hockey Championship here on Thursday.

Customs earned an emphatic 4-1 win against Punjab Whites after taking a 2-1 lead in the first half.

Punjab Whites made a fine start, scoring their solitary goal in the fifth minute through Abdul Razzaq. Customs recovered well, scoring four goals in a row and without conceding any more to complete animpressive win. First Mohammad Imran equalised the score in the 15th minute. Hafiz Zohaib put the winners 2-1 ahead for the first time while Khalid Bhatti sounded the board in the 46th minute and Salman chipped in with a goal six minutes later to thrash the losers.

Police defeated Punjab Reds string, scoring one goal each in either half.

Tassawar Abbas converted a short-corner in the 27th minute to give Police the 1-0 lead, which remained intact till the first half.

In the second session, Mohammad Fayyaz fired home in the 49th to complete the tally.

Two more matches will be played on Friday. National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) will face Punjab Greens and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) will take on Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
