District Central trounce Larkana

KARACHI, Feb 28 Karachi District Central collected full points registering a facile 52-23 victory over Larkana in pool 'A' match of the Sindh Inter-district Men's Basketball championship at the Arambagh floodlit court on Saturday.

The local players who dominated the play right from the word go led 23-10 at half time.

Agha Ibrahim (12), Adnan Ali (10) and Mohammad Shabbar (8) were the principal scorers for winners. However, it was Haroon who played pivotal role along with M. Saad Shafiq in the team's victory.

Mohammad Asif Mahmood (9) and Mohammad Daniyal (7) were the main scorers for outstation team.

After holding Karachi district West to nine-all at interval, Sukkur went down 23-38 in the second match of the day.

Shehryar turned out to be main scorer for winning side with 18 followed by Abdullah 7. Basit contributed 16 for losers.

Meanwhile, Fahad Ahmed and Ali Ahmed steered Karachi district South to 67-15 victory over Hyderabad in the fourth match played on Friday night. The match was interrupted due to power failure.

Giving a brilliant display of shooting, Fahad scored 24 while Ali contributed 20 for winners. They were ably assisted by Mohammad Sami (14). Shahbaz and Ali Jamali scored 8 and 6 for Hyderabad.

Mirpurkhas v Karachi district West 5.00pm; Karachi district Central v Badin 6.00pm; Karachi district East v Karachi district Malir 7.00pm; Hyderabad v Thatta 8.00pm.
