Hockey turf to be installed at Kohat

PESHAWAR, Jan 28 NWFP Minister for Sports Syed Aqil Shah on Wednesday said that synthetic hockey turf would be laid down in Kohat for which grant would be allocated in the next fiscal year.

The assurance in this connection was given by him to a delegation of the District Kohat Hockey Association led by Vice President Khalil-ur-Rehman. Secretary of the association Manzoor Ahmad Sadaat, member Haji Farid-ur-Rehman, Secretary of the NWFP Basketball Association Faqir Awan, former basketball player Din Muhammad and Secretary Awami National Party District Kohat Masood-ur-Rehman were also the members of the delegation.

Syed Aqil while talking to the delegation said that all their demands regarding the promotion of sports in the districts, particularly hockey would be solved on priority basis. He also announced the establishment of artificial turf at Hockey Stadium at Kohat in the next financial year.

He also assured the delegation that a Kohat Stadium would be upgraded wherein all sports facilities could be available.—APP
