NEW DELHI Lured by commercial success of the recently-concluded World Cup, International Hockey Federation has decided to allot one world-level tournament to India for men or women per year for the next fours years.

FIH took the decision in its Executive Board meeting in New Delhi last week after conclusion of the World Cup.

“FIH Board agreed in principle to allocate one tournament for men or women per year to India for next four years.

“FIH hopes to attract commercial and TV interest in these events,” international body said in a statement on Monday.—Agencies
