HYDERABAD, April 29: A modern slaughterhouse will be constructed at the new Cattle Colony on Tando Mohammad Khan road with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank.

This was announced by Sindh Minister Naeem Ishtiaque while speaking at a reception hosted in his honour by the Cattle Farmers’ Association at Cattle Colony on Sunday.

He directed the Latifabad Taluka Nazim to resolve basic problems of the area.

Earlier, speaking at an open katchehry organized by Tando Mohammad Khan unit of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, the minister said that the government was committed to resolving problems of the people and the local government system was a step in that direction.

He said that a fire brigade would be provide to Tando Muhammad Khan taluka council soon as promised by the Sindh chief minister during his visit to the town.

He called upon the people to cooperate with the union council Nazims for execution of development schemes.

Mr Ishtiaque said that if any malpractice was witnessed in the execution of development schemes, it should be brought to the notice of authorities concerned.

SAU: During his visit to the Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam, the HEC chairman said in order to improve the standard of education, it had been planned that at least 1,000 scholars should acquire PhD degrees every year.

He called upon experts to send their projects to the HEC, adding that projects up to Rs3 million would be approved.
