KARACHI, April 29: President FPCCI, Riaz Ahmed Tata has said that Gwadar Port Project will be a milestone in the history of Pakistan.

The FPCCI chief, who accompanied Finance Minister, Shaukat Aziz on a one-day flying visit to Gwadar Port on April 28, expressed pleasure that the Gwadar Area would be declared Special Economic Zone and said that this would not only attract foreign as well as local investment but also give a big boost to the exports of the country.

In a statement, he said that the area is famous for the world’s finest varieties of prawns, lobster and fish and therefore SEZ would provide special attraction for investors in processing, preservation, packaging and export of Seafood.

Tata said that since Gwadar Port will be the only free port between Dubai and Colombo Ports, which will provide container storage and warehousing facilities, it will attract the shipping lines moving cargoes to and from land-locked countries of Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
