KARACHI, Dec 20 International cueist Khurram Agha guided Area Snooker Club to a nail-biting 4-3 victory over Karachi Club 'A' in the final to win the 2nd KC Inter-club Snooker Team Event at the KC premises on Saturday.

The winners, who earned a 3-1 lead in the best of six frames, saw it slipped from their hands as the hosts fought back and drew level. However, Khurram handed out a 50-0 defeat to Perwani in the decisive frame to win the honours.

Khurram, a former Asian No 3, had a double delight as he earned the 'Highest Break' award of Rs5,000 by cracking 89 in doubles with Kamran Razzak against the pair of Mohammad Sultan and Farrukh Usman.

Eight teams including three from the Karachi Club, featured in the contest which was revived after 2005. The KC 'B' had won the inaugural event beating Area Snooker Club 4-0 in the final.

The winners received a purse of Rs40,000 while runners-up got Rs25,000 from the chief guest, former PBSA president, Asghar Valika.
