Robbers kill colonel’s father

SAHIWAL, April 28: Three robbers on Monday killed the father of an army colonel on resistance during a dacoity in P Block, Farid Town.

Altaf Hussain (80), the father of Col Aftab Ahmed, along with his wife and sister-in-law were asleep when three robbers entered the house. The intruders held them at pistol point, locked Altaf’s wife and the other woman in a room and started scooping valuables. The robbers killed the aged man by hitting the rifle butt to his head for holding them out. Later, the robbers escaped with the booty while firing in the air. Farid Town police have registered a case.

TAKEN AWAY: The car of the father of Lahore Cantonment SP was taken away by vehicle lifters on the premises of district courts here on Monday.

Muhammad Siddique Kamiana, former Majlis-i-Shoora member and father of SP Mian Bilal, had parked his car (MNR-6655) in district courts. He found his car missing when he returned only after 15 minutes.
