Electric wires thieves arrested

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, April 27: The police have busted a gang involved in stealing electric wires and recovered a pick-up and stolen wires from their possession on Sunday.

Four accused Haqnawaz, Jamil, Ramzan and Ikram were also held in the raid on their hideout.

The police also recovered 5,884kg wire and a pick-up from a house in Sheikh Yousaf Adda after the interrogation of suspects.

The accused had melted the wires.The gangsters also disclosed the names of other accomplices during interrogation. They told the police that they had stolen wires from Wapda poles in Ratta Kulachi, Sagu, Shorkot, Korai, Muqeem Shah and Dera Township localities.

It was also reported that some Wapda employees were also involved in the theft of wires. However, the police did not disclose their names.
