LAHORE, Aug 20 Finally, the sports fraternity of Pakistan seems to have started realising its top moral obligation towards tens of millions of countrymen devastated by the country's worst-ever floods, as the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) announced a charity match in this connection against the Netherlands, during the national team's training camp, to be held in the Netherlands in September.

“Secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Asif Bajwa said this match will be held in between Sept 13 and 20 in the Netherlands. The modalities of the match have been decided in consultation with the Netherlands Hockey Federation, Pakistani community and the Pakistan Embassy in the Netherlands,” a PHF media release stated on Friday.

“We hope the PHF will generate substantial amount from this [fund-raising] match. The generated money will be distributed amongst the flood victims fairly. In this crucial situation [of floods crisis] it is the duty of every citizen to help our brothers and sisters,” Asif Bajwa stated. —Sports Reporter
