KARACHI, June 29 Shaikh Saquib of Punjab and Zoya Khalid of ZTBL starts as favourites in the boys and girls under-19 events when the main round of fourth DG Rangers Sindh National Junior Squash Championship carrying richest ever purse of one million rupees gets into action at their squash complex on Wednesday.

Top seed Saquib was runner up to Aurangzeb Mehmund in the Tughral Shah Khan Memorial national junior event in May and is tipped to make amends in the latter's absence who has crossed the age barrier.

However, junior international and second seed Farhan Zaman of the PAF, who won the under-19 title in the Roshan Khan Memorial event held here in Dec last year, is the dark horse and may pull off an upset.

Zoya, winner of under-19 crown in the two events held during the first half of this year, is on course to complete a hat-trick should she annex this title.

The boys under-19 winner will earn Rs47,500 while Rs32,500 goes to the runner up. The girls under-19 champion will fetch Rs40,000 with runner up getting Rs28,000.

Meanwhile, the two-day qualifiers concluded at the venue on Tuesday. All the second round winners have earned a place in the main round.
