Shahzad M`Dan lose K-League opener

KARACHI, Nov 21 FC Rovers beat defending champions Shahzad Mohammadan 5-1 in the inaugural match of the seventh Karachi Football League at the Baloch Mujahid Stadium at Ibrahim Haideri on Friday.

Left-winger Irfan Junejo scored a hat-trick in the 72nd, 74th and 88th minutes while striker Sikandar Butt scored two goals in the ninth and 60th minutes.

Sohail Baloch reduced the margin for Shahzad Mohammadan on a free kick in the 90th minute.

In the other match, Gulistan Friends Korangi beat Shah Faisal Nazimabad 1-0. The decider was scored by striker Nasir Ali in the 57th minute.

The matches were refereed by Ejaz Hussain, Iqrar Hussain, Babar Khan, Choudhury Iqbal and Khurram Riaz. Abdul Karim was the match commissioner while Hussain Baloch served as match coordinator.—Agencies
