Sukkur`s sportspersons debarred

KARACHI, July 9 The provincial ministry of sports has debarred half-a-dozen sportspersons belonging to Sukkur, including four government employees, on account of misconduct during the opening ceremony of last month's 13th Sindh Games.

“They have been barred from taking part in any activities for a year including the next Sindh Games,” an official confided to Dawn on Friday.

Those found guilty include wanjwatti coach Lala Ishtiaq (education department), wanjwatti player Zulfiqar Chachar (railways), volleyball coach Ejaz Gayo (education department), kodi kodi official Panah Mehar (irrigation department), kodi kodi official Ali Hasan and tug-of-war player Riaz Ahmed.

The ministry has informed provincial secretary education and administrator Sukkur besides president POA, director general PSB and the secretary SOA about the action.
