KARACHI, May 27 Second seed Aurangzeb Mehmund of Punjab overcame third seed and province-mate Sheikh Saqib in five games final to land the boys under-19 title in the inaugural Tughral Shah Khan Memorial National Junior Squash Championship at PN Roshan Khan-Jahangir Khan Squash Complex on Thursday.

Sheikh, who upset top seed Waqas Mehboob the other day, recovered from two games down to drew level at two-all but could not maintain and lost the decisive game. Aurangzeb won the battle 11-4, 15-13, 9-11, 3-11, 11-8 that lasted for almost an hour.

The boys' under-17 title went to top seed Salman Mohib who accounted for Ali Bokhari 11-8, 11-4, 2-11, 6-11, 11-8. Similarly, top seed Bilal Zakir lived up to his billing by getting past fourth seed Ammad Farid 11-7, 12-10, 9-11, 11-8 in 48 minutes.

Israr Ahmed and Mehran Javed annexed the boys' under-13 and under-11 titles respectively.

Contrary to boys, the girls' under-19 and under-15 finals turned out to be one-sided affairs.

Top seed Zoya Khalid of the ZTBL whipped Punjab's Riffat Khan 11-2, 11-3, 11-6 in just 18 minutes while another top seed Sadia Gul of PAF was home 11-4, 11-1, 11-6 over Sindh's Ayesha Zafar in 23 minutes.

Squash legend and Emeritus President of the World Squash Federation (WSF) Jahangir Khan, who graced the occasion gave away the prizes.
