LAHORE, April 25: Three matches were played in the third Punjab Inter-District Under-16 football championship which started at Sports Stadium, Sargodha on Friday.

Bhakhar crushed Chakwal 7-1 in the first match. Pakpattan and Rahimyar Khan were tied 1-1 while in the third match Khanewal defeated Bahawalpur 3-1.

Punjab sports minister Naeemullah Shahani who inaugurated the championship announced that the winning team will get Rs 30,000 and the runners-up Rs 25,000. The third position holder will get Rs 20,000 and the fourth position holders Rs 15,000.

The team from fifth to eighth will also earn Rs 5,000 each. The best player of the tournament will be honoured with Rs 10,000 while the Man-of-the-Final will also receive Rs 5,000.
