ISLAMABAD, April 25: The 9th Inter Provincial Weightlifting Championship will be held at Quetta from May 30.

All the four provinces plus Quetta will figure during the two-day competition which will conclude on May 31.

The championship will include 56, 62, 69, 77, 85, 94, 105 and over-105 kilograms categories.

A team can enter only one weightlifter in each category, making it overall eight weightlifters each plus two team officials.

However, the weightlifters of Wapda, Railways, Army and Police cannot take part in the competition, it was officially learnt here Friday.

The participating teams—Punjab, Sindh, NWFP, Balochistan and Islamabad—have been asked to send their entries to the Pakistan Weightlifting Federation and also to the Organising Secretary of the competition.

M. Ayub Khan Khilji, the Honorary Secretary of Balochistan Weightlifting Association, is the Organising Secretary of the championship. He can be contacted at Bilal Hotel, Abdul Sattar Road, Quetta. (Ph. no. 832711 & 832712. Res. 825590).

The participating outfits have been directed to intimate the Organising Secretary, M. Ayub Khan Khilji, of their arrival schedule.

Only the Pakistan colour-holder weightlifters have been allowed to wear Pakistan blazer and constume while team managers have also been asked to ensure of good behaviour by their players.

As just five teams will feature during the championship, they have been asked to bring maximum (eight each) weightlifters so as to ensure a befitting action. Disciplinary action may be taken against the teams showing up with just a few lifters.—APP
