ISLAMABAD, April 25: The district administration has banned meeting of prisoners with their relatives in judicial lockup at the district courts.
The move came after an accused tried to escape from the lockup a few days ago.
Taking notice of the matter, the district administration beefed up security around the judicial lockup, and ordered that prisoners should not be allowed to meet their relatives without prior permission of assistant commissioner Saddar.
SSP Islamabad Shahid Nadeem Baloch reviewed the security arrangements and directed the on-duty officials to be vigilant.
Meanwhile, two policemen were suspended and another demoted on Thursday on charges of allowing prisoners to meet their relatives in the judicial lockup after taking bribe.

The I-9 Police arrested Khalid Mehmood on December 2002 and recovered stolen valuables from his possession.
