QUETTA, April 25: The opposition parties in the Balochistan Assembly have urged the government to consult them on important government affairs and stated that soon a requisition would be filed with the speaker to summon a session of the assembly.

This demand was reiterated at a joint meeting of the opposition parties, comprising the Balochistan National Movement, Jamhoori Watan Party, Balochistan National Party (Mengal) and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, held with the opposition leader of the provincial assembly, Kachkol Ali Baloch, in the chair.

Participants accused the government of mismanagement and violation of the rules in transfers and postings of officials and expressed deep concern over what they said deteriorating law and order situation in the province.

They condemned the government for what they said ignoring the opposition members in development schemes, saying that they also represented the masses, therefore the government must consult them on matters confronting the people.

The meeting blamed the government for a discrimination while destroying poppy crop in the province and alleged that no action was taken against drug traffickers.

The opposition parties also urged the government to accept demands of the employees of Sui Gas Company.
