KARACHI, April 6 Engro expanded its dairy business with the launch of ice-cream 'Omore', which company hopes would eventually contribute to the profitability of the food business.

CEO Engro Foods Sarfaraz Rehman said the new product was launched on March 22 and the beginning was made from the Northern zone, cities in the Punjab, including Lahore.

Engro Foods is the wholly-owned subsidiary of Engro Chemical. Mr Rehman said the production capacity was enough for three years volume forecasts.

He said that the dairy business was hoped to start contributing to profitability, earlier than the initially projected gestation period.
