Couple commits suicide

OKARA, April 24: A newlywed couple committed suicide reportedly because of poverty, in the Samadpur area on Wednesday.

Muhammad Majid married Reena a few months ago. Majid had been without a job since then and the couple could not make both ends meet.

The couple allegedly took poison on Wednesday night. Majid died in the house while Reena breathed her last at the DHQ hospital.

HOUSE LOOTED: Robbers looted a house in Nawab Colony on Wednesday.

Three unidentified armed men forced their entry into the house of Muhammad Iqbal, collected cash, gold ornaments and other valuables, worth hundreds of thousands of rupees, and escaped.

A Division police registered the case.
