MANSEHRA, April 24: Hundreds of poultry farms in every nook and corner of Mansehra district are causing environmental pollution and affecting public health.

There are 359 poultry farms, set up in violation of rules and regulations of the Environmental Protection Agency, says a report issued by Haryali Press, an NGO launched by local journalists for protection of environment and forest and water resources.

According to a tehsil-wise breakdown, 292 of those poultry farms are running in Mansehra, 27 in Balakot and 40 in Oghi.

The report says that from Datta to Chatterplain on Kara-koram Highway most of these poultry farms have been made in thickly-populated localities.
