Bush to declare victory next week

WASHINGTON, April 24: President George W. Bush is expected to declare victory in Iraq in an address to the nation next week, the Washington Post reported on Thursday. Commenting on the report, White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said the president will “await the word from the commanders in the field” before declaring victory. He said when Mr Bush addresses the nation, his remarks “be focused on the war in Iraq and the conclusion of the war.”
