RAWALPINDI, April 23: Additional district and sessions judge Mohammad Akram Awan on Wednesday issued non-bailable warrant of arrest for the SHO of Air Port police station for his failure to respond to a summon notice of the court in a narcotics case.

The court also directed the district account officer to withhold the monthly salary of the SHO.

JAILED: The judge of family court, Shabana Risalat Abbasi, on Wednesday sent a man to jail for not paying the decreed amount of dower and maintenance to his ex-wife.

Zahoor Ahmed was sent to the Adiala Jail after he failed to pay Rs275,000 to his ex-wife, Fareeda. He would be released only after he paid the amount, otherwise he would remain in the prison for one year.

The same court also decided a marriage dissolution, dower and maintenance suit in favour of a woman, Rashida Mubarak, as the latter had contended that her husband, Waras Masih, had allegedly, a number of times, tried to burn and kill her.

RECOVERED: The bailiff of the district and sessions judge, Dost Mohammad Khemta, recovered a man from the custody of his parents after his wife, through a habeas corpus application, had alleged that her husband, Bilal Habib, had been detained by his parents in their house and was not allowed to meet her.

However, Bilal told the court that on March 18 he had married Khadija but divorced her on April 21.

He said before the marriage, the woman had claimed that she had never married to anybody. But soon after he found that she had been divorced by her first husband and had two children.
