SUKKUR, April 23: The Anti-Corruption Committee decided to charge-sheet 17 officials of the Police, Irrigation, Revenue and Forest departments with immediate effect in the court of law.
It decided this in a meeting, which was held here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of the DCO, Khairpur, Ahmed Bukhsh Khokhar.
The committee reviewed individual cases of all 17 officials and asked the deputy director, Anti-corruption, Nisar Khan, to submit the charge-sheet of all 17 officials in the court of law.
The names of the officials being charge-sheeted are Sub-Inspectors Mohammed Urs, Mir Mohammed Abbasi, and Allah Rakhio Dharejo, Constables Akhter Hussain, Mohammad Sharif Mojai, Sikander Ali, and Ghulam Qamber Chang, Sub-Engineers of Irrigation Department Noker Ali Shah, Mazhar Ali, and Ali Gul, Forest Officers Syed Mehmood Raza Shah, and Basheer Ahmed. The names of five officials and their departments could not be ascertained.
The committee also decided to register cases against eight employees of different departments on the alleged charges of corruption. Besides, it asked that departmental action be taken against 15 corrupt employees belonging to the Education, Revenue, Forest and Police departments.
The DCO asked the members of the committee to complete the proceedings against all corrupt officials within 15 days and submit a report.
WOMAN KIDNAPPED: Several armed men kidnapped a woman, Dehani Bhutto, and her daughter, Benazir, from Shahee Wah, near Shikarpur, on Wednesday.
The woman’s husband, Abdul Majeed, lodged a case against eight men under the Hudood Ordinance. Those who have been booked are Ahmed, Abdul Jabbar, Mohammad Hassan, Nawaz, Lal Mohammad, Jamaluddin and Mohammad Saleh.
ACCIDENT: A girl, Totan Chandio, was hit and killed by a wagon on a section of the Shikarpur-Jacobabad road, near Abdul Shakh, on Wednesday.
The wagon driver fled immediately.
