KARACHI, April 23: Senior presiding officer of the City District Council said on Tuesday that water shortage problem of Lyari Town would be resolved soon.

He held out the assurance during a visit to the hunger strike camp set up by union council Nazims and Naib Nazims to protest against severe water shortage in Lyari Town,

The Nazims demanded immediate repair of main valves and motors of Bihar Colony and Mirza Adam Khan Road pump stations besides increase in bulk supply.

Provincial assembly member Rafiq and city council members Siddiq Rathore, Qazi Saddaruddin, Abdul Razzak Saddiq, Abid Alyas and Shamim Mumtaz were also present.

MPA Rafiq said there was a need of 30 million gallons water daily in Lyari Town but hardly 13MGD was being supplied.—PPI
