MOSCOW: Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov praised US and North Korean efforts to defuse a nuclear crisis on Wednesday, but Moscow’s top Asia expert said the stand-off had left the Korean peninsula on the brink of disaster.
One of Ivanov’s deputy ministers, speaking in Tokyo, said the discussions in Beijing were little more than “talks about the beginning of talks” and predicted matters could go badly.—Reuters
