HARIPUR, Dec 7: The Nazim of Dhenda Union Council, Mr Ahmad Sultan Khan advocate, has refused to draw the honorarium from the district fund and urged others to follow in his footsteps.

This he announced while talking to newsmen here.

The provincial government, through a memorandum circulated in the province, has proposed to fix an honorarium of Rs5000 for a union nazim in addition to certain amount of funds to be used for telephone and other facilities. The government’s proposal has drawn a spate of statements both in favour and against.

Talking about the proposed honorarium, Ahmad Sultan Khan advocate termed it an extra burden on the national exchequer if the decision was implemented.

Urging other union nazims for spending this money on the well-being of their constituents he promised to earmark Rs60000 of his annual share of honorarium exclusively for the development of his area.
