SRINAGAR, April 21: A prominent Kashmiri leader said on Monday militants were happy at the resignation of the US ambassador to India, Robert Blackwill, saying the top US envoy was “partial and biased”.
“Unlike his predecessors, Blackwill has always been partial,” said Shabir Shah.
“He has always supported the Indian position on Kashmir,” Mr Shah said.
Mr Blackwill announced his resignation in a statement on Monday, saying he was returning home to write and teach.
“It is good that he (Blackwill) is gone. Kashmiris see him as a biased man,” Molvi Abbas Ansari, a religious leader and senior leader of the Hurriyat, said.—AFP
