SUKKUR, March 22 About 250 candidates, who had gathered outside the Government Degree College in Sukkur to appear in Sindh Public Service Commission's examination for jobs in department of works and services, held a demonstration on Sunday in protest against cancellation of the test without informing them.

The candidates who had arrived from Karachi, Hyderabad, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Larkana, Shikarpur, Khairpur and other districts to appear in the examination found the college gate closed.

They kept waiting till 11 am but no one turned up to inform them about cancellation of the examination. Weary and enraged the candidates held a demonstration in front of the gate and shouted slogans against the government.

Amanullah Kalwar said that according to schedule, the examination was to be held at 900 am and they had reached well in time but to their surprise there was nobody to tell them as to why the examination had been cancelled and when it would be held again.

SPECIAL PEOPLE A large number of disabled persons held a demonstration and a sit-in outside the press club here on Sunday, demanding payment of Zakat and provision of government jobs under reserved quota for the disabled. —Correspondent
