The security forces and the police elite force cordoned off a large area on the Rawalpindi road early in the morning and carried out search for the arrest of militants and tribesmen who had illegally crossed into Kohat from Orakzai Agency recently.

The operation, which lasted for seven hours, was part of the security plan for the Muharram, officials informed. The areas which were combed included Kohat's south eastern parts of Kharmatu, Kot, Orakzai Banda, Dhoda Sharif, Tor Dhand and Noor Elahi Colony.

The security forces seized 30 kilograms of explosive material in the shape of remote controlled improvised explosive devices and 50 electric and non electric detonators which were destroyed later on. -DawnNews
