ISLAMABAD, April 18: Indian High Commission here has refused to issue visas to the Pakistan team that was scheduled to feature in the Saarc golf championship in New Delhi.

“The visas have been refused,” Col Jamil Khalid, an official of Pakistan Golf Federation, confirmed on Friday.

The four Pakistani golfers who were to appear in the championship were, Dr Aimal Zaman, Tariq Mehmood, Shahid Javed and Waqas Ahmad.

“We were fully prepared for this championship but the Indian High Commission here declined to give us the visas,” said the disappointed Pakistani golfers.

The team had planned to leave for the Indian capital on Friday morning. Saarc championship was scheduled to be participated by almost all the South Asian countries.—APP
