MIRPURKHAS, April 18: The Kunri police on Friday freed 15 peasants from captivity of a local landlord in Deh Sohni, Samaro taluka.
The raid was conducted on the directives of district and sessions judge, Mirpurkhas, after an application was filed against Haji Khalid Siraj Soomro, a local landlord, accusing him of keeping his family members and other relatives in illegal captivity. The court had later directed the Kunri police to recover the peasants from landlord’s captivity.
Peasants, who were freed, included Ms Nari, Wewo, Hoti, Premo, Romi, Lachi, Beko, Feso, Dado, Sarro, Kemi and Holi, Rani and Hewolo.—Correspondent
