ISLAMABAD, April 18: Higher Education Commission (HEC) has launched a scheme of ‘postdoctoral fellowships’ for university teachers.

According to a press release issued here on Friday, the scheme would provide opportunities to the PhD teachers of universities, centres of excellence, area study centres, Pakistan study centres and degree-awarding colleges/institutes for 9-12 months postdoctoral research.

The fellowships would be awarded on merit through competition on national basis to faculty members working in public sector universities and degree-awarding institutions.

Special consideration would be given to those teachers, who did not have an earlier opportunity of academic exposure abroad. PhD degree holders, having sufficient teaching/research experience at public sector universities, would be the beneficiaries of the fellowships.
