KOHAT Five bodies of militants were found in the Akhorwal area of the Frontier Region of Kohat on Friday.

Sources said the bodies were found in Zor Akhorwal. The killed militants were identified as Sohail, Hilal, Shoeb, Shahid and Imran, all residents of Darra Adamkhel.

Last month, 17 bodies of militants had been found in a graveyard in Akorwal in two days.

Meanwhile, suspected militants tried to blow up a convoy heading to Hangu from the Kurram Agency under protection of the military by exploding an improvised explosive device through a remote control on a roadside near Tor Pul in Thall on Friday.

Officials said militants detonated the explosive device when the convoy reached the Tootkas area, damaging an army vehicle. However, there was no report of casualties.

Security forces arrested two suspected militants and seized an explosive-laden vehicle during a search operation in different parts of Bara on Friday.

According to the Frontier Corps media cell, security forces cordoned off the Kohi Chowk locality after their convoy was targeted with an explosive device planted in the middle of the road.

Meanwhile, a tribal elder, Ibrahim Kukikhel, was killed and his wife and children were injured when they were returning home in Jamrud after attending a wedding ceremony. The tribal elder's car was ambushed near the Wazir Dhand area.
