PESHAWAR, April 15: The Peshawar University Teachers Association observed a strike on Tuesday against growing incidents of car-lifting at the campus.

Speaking at a protest meeting, Puta President Arbab Afridi said the university administration had failed to recover stolen cars of the university teachers and demanded that those whose cars were stolen should be compensated.

He said a hunger strike camp would be organized at the campus on April 22. He said the increasing incidents of car-lifting at the campus had created a sense of insecurity which could lead to the closure of the institution if steps were not taken to stem the tide.
