KARACHI, April 14: An election tribunal, headed by Justice Zawwar Hussain Jaffery of the Sindh High Court, disposed of on Monday the election petition of Muttahida Qaumi Movement candidate Syed Afsar Sagheer against provincial minister Irfanullah Khan Marwat after the petitioner’s counsel withdrew it.

Syed Afsar Sagheer challenged the results of Sindh assembly constituency PS-114 Karachi through his counsel, Kazi Khalid, Advocate.

When the matter was taken up on Monday, the petitioner’s counsel informed the tribunal that his client wanted to withdraw his petition. Whereupon the tribunal dismissed the petition as Kazi Khalid did not press it.
