ISLAMABAD, April 13: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said that the ruling PML-Q government believes in tolerance and accommodation in politics and it will continue striving to uphold these virtues.

He told Ijazul Haq, MNA who called on him here on Saturday that his government would take its allies along while making decisions about issues vital to the country and the nation.

According to an official statement, the prime minister also separately received for a farewell call Mr Alimul Haque, the outgoing Bangladeshi High Commissioner to Pakistan.

Mr Jamali expressed his satisfaction over the close and cordial relations that existed between Pakistan and the brotherly country of Bangladesh.

He also discussed with the Bangladeshi High Commissioner ways and means to further expand cooperation in various fields for the mutual benefit of both countries.

He conveyed greetings and good wishes for prime minister and people of Bangladesh.

Mr Alimul Haque expressed his gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for the goodwill and extreme cordiality shown to him during his three-year stay in Islamabad.

Later, the President of National Bank of Pakistan, Mr Ali Raza, also called on Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat and informed him of the steps being taken to further improve the bank’s performance as a viable financial institution.

The president also apprised Mr Jamali of the restructuring and modernization process currently being undertaken by the bank’s management to improve its working. In this connection, he said, the bank had achieved the highest profit last year.

The prime minister commended the bank’s performance and said that there was still a room for improvement.
