KOHAT Four people were injured in a bomb explosion at a photo studio in Askari Plaza on the University Road here on Thursday. Nine shops, including a bakery, were also damaged.

Those injured were buying food stuff from the bakery adjacent to the photo studio, minutes before Iftar time. A bomb disposal squad official told Dawn a 10kg improvised explosive device had been planted near the shutter of the studio.

The injured were taken to the KDA Divisional Headquarters Hospital.

It may be mentioned here that a younger brother of the owner of the photo studio and his cousin were killed by militants a few months ago in an ambush on their vehicle on the Hangu road.

Meanwhile, two people, including a policeman, were injured in a rocket attack by militants on a police mobile in the Thall area of the Hangu district on Wednesday night.

Police were on a routine patrol in a van when they came under attack. Constable Naimatullah and civilian Wali Dad, a resident of Bannu, were injured in the attack. They were taken to the Civil Hospital.
