Three of family drown

GUJRAT, April 13: Three members of a family were drowned in the river Chenab near Shahbazpur, Jalalpur Jattan, some 40km from here, on Sunday morning.

Ansar Mahmood, 30, his wife, Shamiala, 26, and nephew Usman, 9, had gone to the river for a picnic. Usman was playing along the bank when he fell into the river. The couple jumped into the river to rescue him and drowned.

Bodies of the couple had been recovered, while that of the minor was missing till the filing of this report. — Correspondent
