MIRPURKHAS, April 13: The University of Sindh has reportedly withheld results of hundreds of students of the Government Model College, Mirpurkhas, for its failure to deposit the affiliation fees for the past two years.

It was learnt that the fees was misappropriated by one of the college’s assistants.

Some time ago, Abdul Khaliq Chachar, inspector of colleges of the university, had sent a letter informing the principal of the college that the affiliation fees for two academic years had not been deposited.

He had added that if the fees was not paid, results of the students appearing in the B.A. and B.Com. examinations would be withheld.

Principal of the college Mairajuddin Qureshi, while talking to this correspondent, said that he had sent several reminders to the assistant asking him to deposit the fees but as yet he (the assistant) had not paid the same.

DROWN: Two minor boys — six-year-old Zulfikar Kori and five- year-old Mohammad Ashfaq — drowned on Saturday in a pond in the Sofiabad village in Digri taluka on Saturday.

They were playing near the pond at the time of the incident when one of them had slipped into the pond and the other had jumped in to rescue him.
