KARACHI, April 13: The traffic police are considering forming a committee to regularize the functioning of professional driving schools in the city, official sources said on Sunday.

The traffic police authorities have decided to recognize only those training schools whose staff are well trained on traffic rules and regulations.

“There are more than 400 driving schools in the city. There is, however, no proper record of them,” said an official.

The committee will be asked to conduct a survey of these schools and register them.

It will also be ensured that the driving schools gave training to intending drivers following the course of the Traffic Engineering Bureau.

Licence will not be granted to applicants if they have no training from an authorized driving school. The condition will be applicable to drivers of both public transport and private vehicles.—APP
