HANGU A Tribal lashkar of the Peroz Khel tribe arrested at least 18 pro-Taliban militants, including four suspected suicide attackers, and seized two explosive-laden vehicles at Goin area in Orakzai Agency on Thursday.
According to officials of the political administration, the miscreants were arrested during the ongoing operation against pro-Taliban militants in the Orakzai Agency.
The lashkar also recovered two explosive-laden vehicles and large quantity of weapons and ammunition, including four suicide jackets, from their possession.
The tribal lashkar of Peroz khel tribe had established blockades in different points of the agency and captured important hill tops in a bid to resist the militants movement in the area.
The lashkar and security forces also exchanged fire with militants on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, the lashkar took in custody some 14 militants, including four suspected suicide attackers, on Thursday morning, he added.
The local sources said that the four suicide attackers were on their way to Kohat and Peshawar when they were arrested.
In another incident the lashkar detained four militants in Kalya area, headquarters of Orakzai agency when they were traveling in a vehicle, a security official said.
The Pervoz Khel tribe was to hold a jirga on Thursday to review the lashkars future strategy.
Meanwhile, one person was killed and two others injured when a bomb exploded in an ambulance at the Abdur Rahim market in Feroz Khel area on Wednesday.
