ISLAMABAD, April 8: Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Nouraiz Shakoor on Tuesday constituted a committee led by the director (gas) of petroleum ministry for probe into rupture of gas pipelines near Ahmadpur Lamba, Sadiqabad.

The body, comprising representatives of the SNGPL and local administration, has been asked to submit its report at the earliest.

The minister, who is in Manila on an official visit, also directed the SNGPL authorities to step up their efforts for early restoration of gas supply to the affected areas. He has asked the authorities concerned to beef up security at the gas installations, which are lifeline of the country’s economy.—APP
