KARACHI, April 8: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has directed the district coordination officer, Mir Hussain Ali, through a letter, that schemes of the Khushhal Pakistan programme be monitored through the Inspection and Quality Control (IQC) department and a committee should also be constituted for the purpose.
The letter said that in the absence any monitoring system an alternative institution was required for the purpose. Development work of the city government were being monitored by the IQC department thus the projects of the KPP should also be monitored by the same department, the letter added.
CHABOOTRA SCHOOLS: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan said that “Chabootra” schools in the province were helping eliminate illiteracy and sense of deprivation among the public.
He said this at a meeting with the teachers of Chabootra schools scheme, being run by the Al-Khidmat Welfare Society.
He asked the teachers to give students the best moral education and create awareness among them about Pakistan and Islam.
He said that the teachers should work wholeheartedly for imparting education to the students of Thar and other remote areas.
The Nazim advised the teachers to enhance their knowledge, especially the knowledge of the Holy Quarn and Suunah, to make Pakistan a welfare Islamic state.
EDUCATION COMMITTEES: City Nazim said that two committees had been formed for training of teachers and for improving education in city government schools and colleges in the light of Holy Quran and Sunnah.
Speaking at the inauguration of The Muhammad Academy in Kosar Town, Malir, on Tuesday he said city government was paying full attention to promote education in backward areas of the city for increasing literacy rate.—PPI
