THATTA, Dec 4: The Bannu police arrested seven people including a councillor and three teachers in a raid on a gambling den near Mawal Mori in Thatta on Tuesday.

A heavy contingent of police, led by the SHO, Ejaz Shaikh, raided the den and arrested the seven men and recovered 13 polythene bags filled with locally-prepared liquor. It also recovered a pistol.

The seven who were arrested were Jumoon Khado (councillor of union council Bachal Gugo), Ghulam Nabi (high school teacher), Bachayo, Luqman Magsi (both primary school teachers), Wazir Ali, Dad Chandio, and Karam Ali Chandio.

They were booked for using and selling liquor and gambling.
