LAHORE Pakistan's junior hockey team beat Malaysia 5-2 in the second warm up match before the Junior World Cup at Johor Bahru, Malaysia, on Thursday.

Earlier, Pakistan played a 2-2 draw against New Zealand in the first warm up match on Wednesday.

According to the information received here from Malaysia, the second warm up match saw Malaysia leading by 2-1 at the end of the first half.

But the second half had Pakistan putting on better play in the second half to score four goals. Mohammad Zubair scored two goals, while Mohammad Irfan scored on a penalty corner, Waqas Sharif and Abdul Haseem Khan also scored one each.

The opening ceremony of the 9th Junior World Cup will take place in Singapore on Friday and the team will have a practice session in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, on June 6. Pakistan plays its first match against Russia on June 7 at Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
