KARACHI Pakistans two leading cueists, Muhammad Sajjad and Raees Khan both from Punjab will represent Pakistan in the 6-Red Ball International Snooker Championship scheduled to be held in Bangkok from July 7th to 12th, the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) announced on Wednesday.

Sajjad and Raees will be rubbing their shoulders with some of worlds top professionals as well as amateur cueists in 6-day competition. Sargodha-born Sajjad, who won the national crown on his debut last year but went down to Muhammad Asif in this years final. Sajjad, however bounced back on the top of national ranking by winning the NBP National Ranking competition on June 1st.

Last year Saleh Muhammad and Muhammad Sajjad represented Pakistan in 6-Red Ball event launched in 2008. Saleh has now defected to Kabul and represented Afghanistan in the Asian Snooker Championship held in Tangshan (China) last month. The mega Asian event is conducted by the Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports in collaboration with the Billiards and Snooker Association of Thailand. On offer will be a prize of 1,000,000 Thai Baht, with the winner taking half a million Baht. — APP
