Aamir Atlas wins Pakistan Open squash

ISLAMABAD Aamir Atlas Khan humbled his fellow Pakistani top seed Farhan Mehboob 3-1 to capture the title of Pakistan Open International Squash Championship at Mushaf Squash Complex on Friday, reports APP.
Egyptian sportswoman Heba Eltorky beat Christina Mak of Hong Kong 3-0 to land the title of the ladies event of Pakistan's biggest squash championship.
Defence Minister Ch. Ahmed Mukhtar was the chief guest at the mens final in the evening and gave away the prizes. He also donated Rs. 2 million for the promotion of squash in Pakistan.
Diminutive Aamir Atlas Khan lost the first game but then regained his form in time to win the mens final 8-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-5 against world No. 27 Farhan Mehboob, who was the No. 1 seed in this tournament.
Heba Eltorky of Egypt downed fancied Christina Mak of Hong Kong 11-7, 11-8, 11-9 to take the title of the ladies event.
Defence Minister Ch. Ahmed Mukhtar appreciated the standard of squash in the mens final, adding that the government would help Pakistan Squash Federation in its efforts to regain the past squash glory for Pakistan.
