ISLAMABAD April 7: An emergency meeting of the supreme council of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal has been convened for Wednesday in the federal capital, the alliance sources said.

To be presided over by MMA chief senator Allama Shah Ahmed Noorani, the meeting is expected to be attended by all the heads of six component parties.

The alliance leadership will discuss and take a decision on requisitioning of a fresh session of the National Assembly as the combined opposition had already filed a requisition for the Senate.

It will also discuss the report of a two-member committee of Liaqat Baloch and Hafiz Hussain Ahmed on the talks so far held with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League on the contentious issues of LFO, and the president’s holding of the COAS office.

The alliance, according to the sources, will also discuss the Iraq issue, the government’s stance vis-a-vis the US and the resolution passed by the Senate.

The alliance will also determine the date for its upcoming million-man-march at Muzaffarabad.
