Four die, 20 injured as bus overturns

KHAIRPUR, Oct 10: At least four persons including an old woman died, while twenty others were seriously injured on Wednesday when a bus (FDP-9172) overturned on the Khairpur-Kumb-Nawabshah road in an attempt to save a Tonga near Akri, in Faiz Ganj taluka.

The deceased were identified as Bahram Sanjrani, 30, Ghulam Hyder Sanjrani, 20, Ghulam Muhammad Sanjrani, 15, and an old woman named Begum wife of Bakhsh Ali Jalalani, 60.

While the injured identified as Muhammad Hashim, Muhammad Akram, Munir Ahmed Dasti, Ghulam Ali Sanjrani, Mauj Ali Sanjrani, Iqdad Sanjrani, Arbab Lashari, Ali Murad Lashari, Shafi Muhammad Jatoi, Shafi Muhammad Chandio and others who have been admitted to Nawabshah and Faiz Ganj hospitals.

The bus driver managed to escape from the scene after the accident.

INJURED: Some three police officials of Khairpur police were injured here late on Tuesday night when the vehicle of a police party of Tando Masti collided with a trailer on the National Highway near Tando Masti, taluka Gambat.

The injured included ASI Asghar Lanjwani, PC Khalil Ahmed and PC Jabbar.

BODY: The body of a bus driver Iqbal Hussain Mallah, resident of Sagiyoon of taluka Sobhodero, who died on Tuesday in Karachi in a road accident, was brought to his home village on Wednesday for burial.
